Inochi

Asked my Japanese colleague what this is about. All he said was that "Inochi" means life. The song goes "Inochi Kun" "Inochi Kun". "Kun" is refrerred to a young boy. Apart from that we just have to understand that it's one of that weird Japanese characters that we will never understand.

Puppies For Sale

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups. And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

"I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain linkfence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else??stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like theseother dogs would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down bothsides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, Idon't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

With tears in his eyes, farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.Holding it carefully handed it to the little boy.

"How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

Hide Out

I remember back in the days in Kampung Bukit Cina, Chris & me built a tree house and below the tree a real hut that can sleep 5 people easily. It even had a window. It was a perfect hide-out.It's sad how these things are gone  but we make do with what you can get.
We have 2 of these cheap igloo tents from Ikea. One here in Singapore and the other in Malacca where they can still camp out on the lawn.
This pic is the one in S'pore where it's pitched in our tiny apartment. The kids love it and it's my opinion that every kid needs a hide out.
Anyway, it's like the show "Kid's say the darnest things" everyday now in our house.
Exanples of events that took place yesterday and I am not kidding.

Me: Let me wipe your nose before you go cycling.
Luke: Thank you little buddy.

Yesterday when we were at church , during silence after communion.Luke announced to the mother loudly.
"Mama, my bird bird  became bigger"

Buy A Better Mouse

Since I had a little free time, decided I will fix 3 mouse that had the wires damaged. The cables on those laptop mouse are indeed very flimsy and they get damaged in no time.Well, I managed to get 2 working with a little bit of soldering but one was a goner.
Through, my experience, the mouse I bought for Luke looks like the ideal mouse for kids as the detachable usb cable means you can use any cable lying around once the original gets busted.Although, it's a little hard to find, there are some out there. My prefered brand MobileGear does carry this type.Pic below is the mouse I got for Luke 3 years back, cable busted but I just replaced with another etc piece that I had around. One more thing, wireless mouse is a no no for me.

Incompetence

Since Jake was talking about incompetency, this is a good read.Well, Jake the attitude always starts from the top.Shit flows down from the top and it's unfortunate that in Malaysia, the Rakyat end up getting covered in it.Oh, how we all know the big "Najis" and the old "taik" who just joined in the "company" hoped the people will be fooled.Too bad, the Rakyat know that you can cover up shit but the smell always give it away.

I AM LEGEND

Move over Will Smith. This is the true legend. Administration has changed. People have come and gone but this guy just don't know when to say enough is enough. Let's hope he don.t outlive the current leader - I really feel sorry for his community.

On another note - Sorry guys, I've not been visiting the blog for a while. Hence the MIA act. I've been super busy with work of late.
Bout Arul converting to Mac... It's not so much about conversion. It's just darn good. Having said that I'm not saying M$ is not good. You should try it out and see what's all the fuss about. Chris you should too. You don't know what you don't know. Really!!!

How to be competent for DUMMIES!!!!

TV facing the officers rather than the waiting customers. No wonder our country is climbing up the opposite way on global competency index! The place is LHDN where we pay tax. Hopefully the new administration improves this... Nah I doubt it!

I will wait to get an iPhone

After playing with a demo set for a few days I was tempted to get an iPhone. For all the things the iPhone lack like video recording & mms it is still one slick gadget.I heard from Jake that Maxis is offering it as well in Malaysia.
After careful consideration and with rumours that a new model with video recording, a better camera,OLED screen and multi-core graphics may be launched in June with the new OS 3.0.........am going to stick with my trusty Nokia N95 for now.At least then the iPhone will hold up another 6 months tops before a new & improved version is out there.
